Bollywood actors Amit Sadh (Sultan, Kai Po Che!) and Taapsee Pannu (Baby) will soon be seen in a short film called Baarish Aur Chowmein. The love story is directed by acclaimed Indian filmmaker Tigmanshu Dhulia (Paan Singh Tomar, Haasil).
The short film is part of an Indo-Pak cinema initiative called Zeal for Unity, where six Indian and six Pakistani filmmakers come together to direct a film each on the theme of ‘Love.’
Baarish Aur Chowmein is about a Bollywood background dancer (Pannu) and a local museum worker (Sadh) who lives as a paying guest in the house owned by the dancer’s Maharashtrian family.
“According to my Marathimulgi character, opposites always attract. She also believes that love is selfless and unconditional,” Taapsee told Mirror, adding that the prospect of working with Dhulia was one of the major reasons for her coming on board the project.
“Even if he wanted to sign me for a short commercial, I would’ve said ‘yes’ because I respect him a lot. He’s unconventional and amazing with his words. Apart from being a great director, he’s also a fabulous actor,” she stated.
The short films were reportedly showcased in New Delhi on July 5, but are yet to release officially to the public.
