You have seen comedy, romance and horror shows from the Indian web community, but bringing you the first ever horror-romantic-comedy web series is the Hyderabad based YouTube multi-channel network – SillyMonks.
Deyyam Premalo Padindhi (DPP) is a first-of-its-kind Telugu web series (with English subtitles), which will comprise 10 weekly episodes that are each 14 minutes long.
The trailer for Deyyam Premalo Padindhi teases fans with the hilarity that would ensue, come June 29. But before we get into the nitty-gritty of the show, let’s see if we can make sense of the plot – A human being falls in love with a devil! That covers it all – horror, romance and comedy. Television VJ artists; Karan, Dolly and Anusha will be the central characters of the series.
“We believe the story is very compelling and deals with an unfamiliar love story that has a beautifully scripted Horror-Romance-Comedy concoction,” says Sanjay Reddy, Managing Director of SillyMonks.
Well, considering that their previous project, MuddhapappuAavakai, made in collaboration with Pink Elephant Pictures, has had a whooping viewership of over 13 million views on YouTube, it would be interesting to see how this ‘HoRomedy’ series plays out.
“It’s a huge market opportunity and the vast success of web series from Bollywood, like Bang Baaja Baaraat, Pitchers and Permanent Roommates validates its potential that is consistently growing,” adds Reddy.
Looks like the people at SillyMonks are going all in to harvest this ripe market. In fact, DPP is only the first among 6 web series that they will bring out in the near future.
The first episode of Deyyam Premalo Padindhi will release on the YouTube channel – Silly Tube at 5 p.m. on Wednesday, June 29.
