Sincere, natural and an overall feel-good movie: That pretty much sums up Khamakha – a short film starring Manjari Phadnis and Harshvardhan Rane.
Presented by Humaramovie, Khamakha is a sweet and simple love story around perceptions and judgements. Udayan (Harshvardhan) may be an urban, suave guy who’s visibly a little out-of-place in a state transport bus, but his true character is seen when he happily helps out a little kid in the bus by fixing his toy.
Similarly, Raina (Manjari) appears to be comparatively more traditional, with her flawless Marathi and love for Hindi, but who would have guessed she knows more than 10 international languages! What happens when these two meet and interact…?
Both actors shine in their subtle and understated performances keeping in line with the overall tone of the film. Moreover, they share great on-screen chemistry which adds to the whole ‘candid’ feel.
This 17-minute film is far more entertaining than some of those 3-hour long Bollywood snooze-fests we’ve seen recently. Check it out below.
