After giving us some really amazing short films like Sujoy Ghosh’s chilling ‘Ahalya’ and Jaydeep Sarkar’s ‘Nayantara’s necklace,’ Large Short Films has put up a light-hearted film about love, loss and reunion. Titled ‘Interior-Café Night,’ the short film is directed by Adhiraj Bose and stars Naseeruddin Shah and Shernaz Patel along with Shweta Basu Prasad and Naveen Kasturia.

The 13-minute short is set inside a quaint coffee shop in Kolkata where the owner (Shah) comes face to face with the love of his life (Patel) after 30 long years. As their sweet and peaceful reunion unfolds, we witness a young couple (Basu and Kasturia), sitting in the same cafe, dealing with an anguished and heart-breaking separation. Both stories beautifully merge into each other with the young couple’s storyline turning into a flashback of sorts for Shah and Patel’s characters.

Talking about working with Naseeruddin Shah on this short film, Naveen Kasturia – who’s made a mark in the digital entertainment space in India via his lead role in the hugely popular web series TVF Pitchers – tells TubeScoop:

“It was simply a delight working with Mr Shah. Though we didn’t have a lot of scenes together but we did rehearse at his place. One of the most touching incident from the shoot was that after he shot his last scene he was about to leave, post which I was starting my shoot. Before leaving he came to meet me, hugged me and told me to stay in touch which made my day.”

Naveen also adds,” When I was told that I will be working with Mr Naseeruddin Shah, I was star-struck and I knew had to do this movie, though I fell in love with the idea even more after I heard the script. It was an experience of a lifetime for me.”
