So far, 2016 has been pretty awesome for all us web series fans, right?  We had some great shows like Permanent Roommates Season 2, TVF Tripling, Ladies Room, Better Life Foundation and A.I.SHA My Virtual Girlfriend, among many others. But the year’s not over yet and believe it or not, there’s still some really exciting stuff heading our way over the next few weeks.

Here’s TubeScoop’s roundup of the top 5 Indian web series which are set to entertain us in November and December 2016.

Darr 2.0

SRK’s Darr may have released way back in the 90s but his, “I Love You K..K..Kiran” is still remembered as one of the most iconic and chilling dialogues from the film. Now, Bollywood’s creepiest stalker is back as Y-Films launches a bigger, darker and edgier reboot of the cult YRF thriller, as a contemporary five-episode web series called Darr 2.0.

“I’m very excited about that show actually, because it’s again something we’ve never done. it’s a relevant idea for today’s audience,” said producer Ashish Patil about the new series, during an earlier interview with TubeScoop.

According to Y-Films, Darr 2.0 will feature the characters of Rahul, Kiran and Sunil from the original “but in an entirely new milieu, weaved in a modern, original tale of obsession and fear in the age of cyber stalking and digital crimes.” The official release date for the series is yet to be announced but it will most probably be out in November.

The Aam Aadmi Family

The trailer for this upcoming comedy web series by The Timeliners released last week and we must say, it looks really promising.

Actor Brijendra Kala has been part of several big films like Jab We Met, PK, Rustom and MS Dhoni but this web series might just be able to give him the kind of fame and recognition he truly deserves. We’re definitely looking forward to this one. The Aam Aadmi Family episode 1 will release on YouTube this Friday, 4th November.

Little Things

Mithila Palkar (Girl In The City, Official Chukyagiri) stars in this new slice of life web series about a young couple living in Mumbai. Aptly titled, the show focusses on the nuances of everyday life rather than the broader issues related to live-in relationships.

The first episode is already out and you can watch it below. New episodes will release every Wednesday on Dice Media’s (makers of the series) Facebook page and YouTube channel.

After dabbling in several borderline b-grade horror-sleaze fests (Creature, Raaz 3), filmmaker Vikram Bhatt will be launching a sex and BDSM-based web series on YouTube titled Maaya, starring Shama Sikander in the titular role. The series is rumoured to be loosely inspired by Fifty Shades of Grey.

“You can see the concept of BDSM pictured, but in a different way,” said Shama about the series. “It is a love story but with a different angle. It is more intense and more realistic.”

An official release date is yet to be announced but the series is expected to release in Nov/Dec.

Perhaps one of the most eagerly-awaited web series of the year, release date for the Barun Sobti and Surbhi Jyoti starrer – Tanhaiyan – is shrouded in mystery. With a full-fledged trailer already out, one would assume that the series is ready for release. But in a recent post, the show’s producer Gul Khan mentioned that shooting for the web series will begin on November 2.

Well, considering it’s a 13-episode series, maybe the makers will wrap filming (at least for the first few episodes) by end of this month and release it in December. Fingers crossed.
