Amazon’s first Indian web series – Inside Edge – released on Monday to an encouraging response from viewers. The show is made on a lavish scale and it shows. The production value is top notch and its got some competent talent – a welcome change from the regular stuff we have been seeing on the web recently.
Now, we’re not saying that Inside Edge is a superb series – but it is definitely a huge leap forward for web content in India. Backed by Farhan Akhtar and Ritest Sidhwani’s Excel Entertainment, the series definitely got its concept and subject matter right. Who wouldn’t want to watch a Bollywoodized behind-the-scenes expose of IPL (Power Play in this fictional version).
So there’s Cricket, Bollywood, sex, drugs, tons of glamour, few amusing caricatures and a very hammy Vivek Oberoi! 😀
But all things said and done, Inside Edge, seems to have clicked with the audience. Check out some of the tweets below:
Say what you want about #InsideEdge – it’s a bloody gripping show. Also A+ production value.

Finished #InsideEdge, decent show. Brilliant characters and acting. Vivek Oberoi as the dialogue spouting pretentious villain a let down tho
