After a super successful little experiment called Bang Baaja Baaraat with YashRaj Films, Bollywood actor Ali Fazal is all set to star in a new web series which will be produced by Eros.
The actor who is currently shooting for Tanu Weds Manu Returns director Aanand Rai’s upcoming production Happy Bhag Jayegi along with Diana Penty and Abhay Deol, has allotted dates for an exciting new web series which will be directed by Ayush Raina (Horror Story, Mumbai Cutting).
Ali’s Bang Baaja Baaraat hit all the right chords and became a popular web show, thanks to its high production values and superb performances. The actor who played a groom-to-be alongside the very pretty Angira Dhar managed to tickle funny bones through this rom-com. No wonder he is now looking forward to making another web series.
Confirming the news, Fazal said in a statement, “so the word is out and I thought let’s take a break. And when actors say break they mean high adrenaline sport. So came this wonderfully crafted piece of writing my way after my successful stint with YashRaj.”
Giving some insight about this upcoming web TV show, the actor said: “[It’s] a story based in Goa. On the lines of Goan mafia. I draw parallels with the godfather and Narcos. It fits our Indian scenario and the Goa scene. Goa isn’t just about tourism and happy faces. There is a lot of history in there and some of it might be up for exploitation in this series. The roles have been beautifully distributed among great actors. Playing a lead in a madcap 10 episodic series is a heavy graph to maintain. So we went into a lot of prep for it. My director is my guru, and I look forward to joining the crew back after I wrap Anand Rai’s film.”
