Sincere, natural and an overall feel-good movie: That pretty much sums up this short film starring Manjari Phadnis and Harshvardhan Rane. This 17-minute film is far more entertaining than some of those 3-hour long Bollywood snooze-fests we’ve seen recently.

A light-hearted film about love, loss and reunion – Interior-Café Night is directed by Adhiraj Bose and stars Naseeruddin Shah and Shernaz Patel along with Shweta Basu Prasad and Naveen Kasturia.
3. Mama’s Boys
Delhi Belly writer Akshat Verma brings a naughty take on a famous Mahabharat episode by putting the Pandavas, Kunti and Draupadi in the 21st century. All controversy aside, the film is truly hilarious!
Suspense, seduction, deceit – Ahalya is a gripping thriller starring Soumitra Chatterjee, Radhika Apte and Tota Roy Chowdhury. This short film is directed by Sujoy Ghosh (Kahani).
Tisca Chopra starrer ‘Chutney’ is a beautifully dark short film. It’s unpredictable, twisted and engaging enough to keep you completely hooked for 16 minutes, and get you thinking after.
Invasion of privacy on social media is a serious issue. Kalki Koechlin and Bengali actress Ritabhari Chakraborty feature in this well-made short film with a message.
7. Born Free
With a 40-minute runtime, this isn’t exactly short when compared to the other film on this list. However, the film starring Sumeet Vyas and Mukti Mohan, is far more entertaining than any of those 3-hour long Bollywood potboilers! Check it out.
8. That Gusty Morning
This touching family drama is a peek into the life of a young girl whose mother is suffering from Alzheimer’s disease. It shows how the unfortunate illness of her mother affects the girl’s personal life. Scarred with past experiences, she is hesitant to disclose her mother’s condition to the man she loves.
Starring Anupam Kher and Natasha Rastogi, ‘Kheer’ is a delightful serving of love and companionship where secrets get accidentally spilt and shared.
Kriti is a commendable attempt at making a psychological thriller – an untapped genre in Bollywood. Manoj Bajpayee, Radhika Apte & Neha Sharma in this twisted tale directed by Shirish Kunder.
